I am the Systems Administrator for the Program in Neuroscience at Florida State University. Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary program including mostly Biology and Psychology faculty members, graduate students, doctoral candidates and post-docs. I maintain the internal network for the Biomedical Research Facility which includes a majority of the Neuro faculty's labs as well as the Dean of Arts and Sciences' lab and a large Lab Animal Research facility on the first floor. I maintain services such as email, webmail, websites, ftp, dhcp, dns, backup, and large file storage for the program and building. All of my servers run some version of either FreeBSD or GNU/Linux. I also provide desktop support for everyone in my program and building. Desktops that I maintain are a range of Microsoft PCs and Apple Macintoshes.
I have been with Neuroscience for about two years now. Before that I was with FSU's College of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. On the side I maintain my own company providing services to individuals and small businesses. If you want more detail, you can view my CV or download it.
